First Christmas Tree!

December in Rexburg means snow, ice, and the beautiful Main Street Christmas lights. The festive spirit is in town and is spreading like wild-fire! We caught the Christmas Bug early this year; we have already had all of our other Christmas decorations set out since the beginning of November (since we will be moving in the middle of December). Anyways, even though we are moving we couldn't pass up the opportunity to decorate our first Christmas Tree together.
Kyle and I had figured we would have to buy a tree similar to Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree (small, dead looking) because of our tightness with money. We were lucky the trees were cheaper than we thought, yay! We got to fulfill our dreams of a full first tree!
Finally after looking through millions of trees, Kyle picked out a magnificent Douglas Fir from our local grocers (Broulims). We loaded it up and hauled it back in our Vue. I ended up holding the back trunk door closed and hanging on to any part of the inside of the car to keep me (and the tree) from flying out. This was quite the beginning to our "little" Tree Adventure.

This is just where the fun began! We got the tree back to the apartment, hauled it up to the door and inside. Quickly, we realized that the tree was too tall for our apartment. We didn't have a saw to cut it and so we opted to use the MiracleBlade Knives Kyle had in the Kitchen.

The MiracleBlade's didn't give us the Christmas Miracle we had hoped for... It stopped about a quarter of an inch into the tree. Those infomercials were incorrect in stating that those knives could cut through "anything". So, in the end we bought a saw anyways. It went up easily enough after we shaved off a good foot and a half.
We postponed decorating until the next night because we were tired from putting the MiracleBlade tree up. Just tonight we took a studying break and decorated the tress. It looks beautiful. Here's the end result.
So as the Christmas Season comes to your home, good luck with the tree and remember:
